Debjit Mukerji joined NGP Capital in 2024 as a Partner in the Palo Alto office, bringing a deep understanding and expertise in industrial and logistics tech, AI, robotics, connected systems, and enterprise software.

A technologist at heart and engineer by training, Debjit loves to partner with founders creating new industries or redefining existing categories with cutting-edge technology. 

Debjit has extensive venture capital investing and Board experience spanning nearly two decades. Prior to NGP Capital, Debjit was a Partner for seven years at Next47 where his investments include Tractian, Skydio, Gecko Robotics, Locus Robotics, DataGrail and Skylo. Several achieved successful exits such as Aeva (NYSE: AEVA), rideOS (acquired by Gopuff) and Turvo (acquired by Lineage Logistics).

Prior to Next47, Debjit was at Siemens Technology to Business (TTB), one of Siemens’ former venture groups. He started his venture capital career at Rho Ventures where he focused on energy/sustainability, IT, and life sciences. His first professional role was as a senior engineer at the Aerospace Corporation where he developed mission-critical thermal control systems for satellites and launch vehicles.

Debjit received a PhD and MS from Stanford University on a Thermosciences Fellowship and a BS with Highest Honors from the University of California, Berkeley, all in mechanical engineering.
