Jan Goetz

Jan Goetz is the CEO and Co-founder of IQM Quantum Computers, a Finnish-German startup building the next generation of quantum computers. Under his leadership, IQM is developing superconducting full-stack quantum computers with up to 150 high-fidelity qubits and industry-leading connectivity.

He serves on the governing board of the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC), is a member of the EIC Scaling Club, and acts as EIC Ambassador at the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). Jan has been recognized as a Global Innovator and Digital Leader by the World Economic Forum and has received multiple awards for his contributions to quantum technology, including Handelsblatt’s “Founder of the Year” in 2023 and Capital’s “Top 40 under 40” in 2020.

He earned his Ph.D. in superconducting quantum circuits from the Technical University of Munich and was a Marie-Curie Fellow at Aalto University in Helsinki, where he holds the title of docent.
