Jonas Schneider

Jonas Schneider is the Founder & CEO of Daedalus, a German deep tech startup pioneering AI-driven factories that produce precision parts for defense, medtech, and advanced manufacturing. The company is a portfolio company of NGP Capital and aims to build the technological backbone for Europe’s resilience.

Before founding Daedalus, Jonas joined OpenAI as its first engineer, serving as Technical Lead and co-founding the Robotics team. There, he led software engineering for integrated software–ML–hardware systems that enable robots to interact with the physical world. His team famously trained a human-like robot hand to solve a Rubik’s Cube and manipulate objects with unprecedented dexterity—work featured in The New York Times and IEEE Spectrum.

Jonas is an active angel investor in the European and US AI ecosystem. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
