We've all experienced those moments when technology has left us in awe. The first time you streamed a movie on your phone, the first time you video called a loved one across the globe, the first time you used a VR headset, the first time you saw robots making a car or used a generative AI tool – these moments can feel like magic.

We believe in the power of technology to transform industries, solve global challenges, and create a brighter tomorrow.
That's also why we are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand refresh here at NGP Capital. Our new vision is to "unleash the magic of technology", with a mission to “back exceptional founders crafting a better future”.
Now, you may be wondering why we decided to do this. Well, as we've grown and evolved over the years, we've come to realize that our old brand no longer fully reflected who we are, what we stand for and where we are going. Of course, the decision to undertake a brand refresh was not an easy one. It involved many hours of brainstorming, stakeholder interviews, iterations and dare I say, hard conversations.
In the world of venture capital, the word brand evokes a myriad of emotions – it’s hotly debated, sometimes misunderstood, under invested, yet sought after.
At NGP, we went into the process knowing that any brand project would be more than a visual refresh. We needed to dig deep and unpack the emotional and psychological connections associated or not associated with our brand. We needed to refine our values and brand promise. And most importantly, we needed to accept that brand building is a long game.
Throughout the process, one thing that we all agreed on was the role founders had within our brand and our industry at large. By refreshing our brand, we hope to better convey our commitment to backing exceptional founders so they can craft a better future.
Visual identity inspired by convergence
So, what's new? Our new visual identity is inspired by the idea of ‘the convergence.’ (More on what we mean by convergence below…). The core elements in the visual identity are the circle and the square, where the circle represents Earth, or our physical environment, and the square represent the ‘bit’, or the digital environment. We believe these elements come together well in our new identity.
- Our new logo is made up of intersecting geometrical shapes, playing on the concept of the convergence of physical and digital environments.
- The vibrant colour palette represents the energy and creativity of the founders we work with.
- Our tone of voice has been refined to show our enthusiasm about the potential of every founder by using language that inspires, excites, and is accessible to an international audience.
- We've refreshed our website, with a focus on simplicity and ease of use. We want founders to be able to easily find the information they need and get in touch with us.
- One thing that hasn't changed is our name – NGP Capital. We love the heritage it conveys, and we want to continue building on that foundation as we move forward.
Unveiling our new thesis
Not only have we gone through an extensive brand and messaging refresh, but we’re also unveiling a new thesis today.
We believe that the 2020s will be a decade of "The Great Convergence" – a decade that will see the convergence of physical and virtual worlds and produce the next generation of iconic technology companies.
This is an exciting time to be a founder and we are eager to support and partner with those who are driving the convergence forward.
As we continue to find and back early-stage B2B tech companies from Series A onwards across Europe, US, Israel, and China, through our new thesis, we’ll be focusing on the following:
Experiences: Applications and use cases enabled by the Convergence
From industrial automation to immersive applications for enterprises to collaborate and connect with customers and employees. Examples: AI co-pilots, digital twins, immersive collaboration, and productivity tools.
Infrastructure: Technology infrastructure powering the convergence
The infrastructure upon which exciting new applications can be built, the tools to allow data to be processed and consumed, as well as the cybersecurity that allows the world to safeguard their data and identities. Examples: XR developer tools, streaming data infrastructure, foundation AI, digital identity protection, and edge computing.
Interaction: Devices and software that bridge the gap between the physical and the virtual
Devices that allow humans to access virtual environments, sensors that draw data from the physical world to build insights, and robotics that translates virtual input into physical output. Examples: XR glasses, robotics, sensors, data capture technology…
